“The Wonderful Name of Jesus” is a wonderful little book full of scriptural references to Jesus’ Name and how believers are privileged to own the Name when "breathed in prayer"。 Here is a summary of the author， E。W。 Kenyon’s intent in writing this book:t“When Jesus gave us the legal right to use this Name， the Father knew all that that Name would imply when breathed in prayer by oppressed souls， and it is His Joy to recognize that Name。t“So， the possibilities enfolded in that Name are beyond our “The Wonderful Name of Jesus” is a wonderful little book full of scriptural references to Jesus’ Name and how believers are privileged to own the Name when "breathed in prayer"。 Here is a summary of the author， E。W。 Kenyon’s intent in writing this book:t“When Jesus gave us the legal right to use this Name， the Father knew all that that Name would imply when breathed in prayer by oppressed souls， and it is His Joy to recognize that Name。t“So， the possibilities enfolded in that Name are beyond our understanding， and when He says to the Church ‘Whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in My Name，’ He is giving us a signed check on the resources of heaven and asking us to fill it in。”The copy that I have was picked up at a sale at a library and it is the 1927 first edition。 It has the author’s stamped name and address on the cover page as if it was his personal copy。 So， I am not only pleased to have it and have read the riches within it， but have an additional sense of connection with the author。 Marvelous… Kenyon relates a wealth of descriptive insights on this most glorious precious Name above every name。 Here are some examples of that wealth in quotes from the text:Jesus， “All He was， all He did。 All He is and all that He ever will be is in that Name now。”t“Jesus knew the place His Name would hold among men。t“Men would love it enough to die for it; others would hate it enough to commit murder on account of it—this Name that makes sinners tremble and saints rejoice。”t“Christianity would have a new element in it if we taught the people intelligently what it meant to believe ON the Name as a sinner and then to believe IN the Name as a believer。t“As a sinner， I believe ON the Name; as a believer， I am baptized INTO it， and then I walk and live IN the Name。。。”t“…We believe ON the Name for salvation; we believe IN the Name for power in service。”The Name of Jesus in prayer: “You must come to God， the Father， through Christ。 Don’t pray to Jesus; don’t pray to the Holy Spirit; never ask for the SAKE of Jesus—always pray in His Name。”t“…Jesus said， ‘You ask—and I will do it。’ This is the most wonderful thing—prayer simplified。 You do the asking， ‘Jesus says， ‘and I will do the doing。’”This small book， in my estimation contained the most comprehensive accounting of the Name of Jesus of any publication that I have read。 And it is concise in presentation yet covers the Name as given in every New Testament reference。 Kenyon also covered such subjects among others as， “How He （Jesus） Obtained His Name”， “What is Back of the Name”， “The Use of the Name” and “The Name in Daily Conflict”。 Praise the Name of Jesus！For me there was one more distinction and it was a bonus beyond the theme of the book。 Kenyon gave a very good comparison of faith and believing:t“Faith is a noun; believe is a verb—an analysis of those two words may help you in trusting the Lord。t“Believing being a verb， is an action word—it really means ‘taking’; to believe in a biblical sense means ‘to take’， ‘to grasp’。 To believe in Jesus means to take Jesus for all that the scriptures declare Him to be。t“Faith is a noun。 I take a step—having taken the step， I have arrived。 Arriving is faith。t“To believe， then， is to act on the Word of God。 Faith is having acted。”“The Wonderful Name of Jesus” was a wonderful book to read。 The author， E。W。 Kenyon was most insightful having dug deep mining the glory of the Name of Jesus。 I want to keep this book by my bedside to explore passages in the quiet times of the night and nurture my life in Christ with the blessed Name knowing it is mine in Him。 I recommend that as a believer in Jesus， you read and absorb this little book。 Bless the Name of Jesus… 。。。more
